Where is Aerosur located?
Carrasco International Airport (South Hangars) and Angel S. Adami Airport (Melilla), URUGUAY.
Can I visit the school at any time?
No, you must contact us to schedule a day and time (Whatsapp +598 91785999) and we will process your access authorization for that day, since we are in a RESTRICTED area of the Airport.
Can I work as a private pilot?
No, a Private Pilot License does NOT authorize you to work, but it is the first step towards a Commercial Pilot License, with which you WILL be able to work.
Is there an age limit for learning to fly?
The minimum age to start flying is 16 years (18 years for international students) and there is NO maximum age.
At what age can I start the Private Pilot Course? At what age can I graduate?
At 15 you can begin the theory test (a few months before turning 16 is ideal), and at 16 you can start flying. At 17 you can obtain your Private Pilot License.For International Students 18 years old.
How much does it cost me per month?
For international students, Way For Sky Aviation (Way For Sky) will manage quotes according to the selected course type.
When are the classes?
For theory classes you can choose schedules from Monday to Saturday between 7 am and 10 pm (theory classes last only 2 hours), we fly seven days a week and at two simultaneous bases to cover any special schedule needs the student may have. International students will be on a full time schedule according to a 10 month intensive training programm.
I work and I'm only available on weekends... is that possible?
Yes, of course, you can have theory classes on Saturdays, and once you start flying, you have every weekend to practice. We also offer online or in-person options for your convenience.
I work until 6 pm, can I still take the course?
Yes, you can have a theory class during the week whenever you choose, after that time, and fly on weekends.
How long are the classes?
The theory classes are 2 hours long at a time and the flight varies depending on the phase of the course in which it is developed, ranging from 45 minutes to crosscountry flights of 2 or 3 hours.
Is there a time limit for completing the course?
No, there isn't one. But international students engage in a 10 month intensive training programm.
I want to do it intensively... is that possible?
Yes, a Private Pilot Course takes about 3 months and the Commercial Pilot Career 11 months (includes Private Pilot and Instrument Rating Courses plus crosscountry hours).
Is wearing magnifying glasses a problem?
No, but for any other medical inquiry, please contact Way For Sky to clear up any doubts.
What is the validity of a Private Pilot License?
The license does not expire; however, the medical (psychophysical) exam must be kept valid, and its validity ranges from 1 to 3 years, depending on the pilot's age. Furthermore, with this license you can fly Uruguayan-registered aircraft worldwide. For international students, they will be able to validate this license anywhere in the world.
I want to work as a pilot, what do I need... what are the requirements?
You must complete the Commercial Pilot Career, which begins with the Private Pilot Course and progresses from there. At Aerosur, you can take all the necessary courses to complete the career. The initial requirement for international students is having completed high school and have an advanced level of English.
